Adam Farcus: Psychoterratic Photographs

August 02, 2021 by Terrain Exhibitions

Psychoterratic emotions are emotions that are related to the positively and negatively perceived and felt states of the Earth. For this series of photographs Adam Farcus asked people to name the color that they would assign to the emotions caused by climate change, to pick that color from a book of lighting gels, and then to locate a place in the region (Springfield / central Illinois) where they would most feel these emotions.

Each Polaroid photograph is an image of each person’s psychoterratic location with their selected color gel held over the camera lens.

Made at the Terrain Residency / Enos Park Residency in Springfield, IL.
