Ghost Flower Dreams
Sculptures made of clear vinyl, containing flower stamped fabric, pounded petals, and flower skeletons. These sculptures preserve the fleeting beauty of my summer garden. Instead of making bouquets, I pound flowers into fabric, preserving their image, turning them into ghosts. There has been periodic percussive hammering in my alley, and it was me pounding layers of fabric and flowers on concrete. I use the fabric, refuse, and stalks to make these sculptures. I hope you look at them from every angle. Imagine the dreams you can’t let go of, good and bad, trapped in the transparent vinyl, like ghosts.

Look Obscure
Look Obscure, is a project exploring the unnoticed brilliance of the everyday, what quietly exists as an ever-evolving constant. Using old home wear fabrics like table cloths, pillow cases, and sheets sewed onto collections of unstretched canvas, we explore how our belongings manifest itself into art. What do we hold, pass by and remain indifferent to? In conversation with our ongoing project, Silence in Chicago, we aim to question the idea of artistic excellence: who gets to make art, why we make art, and which of it could be a prestigious quality if it was evaluated by popular taste and institutions.
