Warli (Evolution)
An installation relating to the legacy of the village culture in rural India.
Warli Painting is created by tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra, India. It is still practiced today. Some examples are the folk style of paintings, which are focused on the concept of elements of nature. The Warli tribe is one of the largest in India, located outside Mumbai. Warli artists use their clay huts as the backdrop for their paintings, similar to how ancient people used walls of the caves as their canvas.
