Berwyn has a history of Czech immigrants celebrating the Houby (mushroom) during fall mushroom gathering season. Especially the toadstool is also a symbol of good luck in Germany where I am originally from. Combining these elements and finding a way to repurpose politician signs to prevent the plastic signs to go into the landfill had me create mushroom silhouettes that I invited my community to decorate contributing to a larger mushroom patch spreading joy for passers by.

Cheek to Cheek
Cheek to Cheek is a series of stools which have the subtle impression of an individual's behind casted in cement (disclaimer: each imprint was made fully clothed with plastic over the top of the wet cement...if you were curious). These stools not only resemble a mushroom-like shape but also reference what it is like to sit or leave an impression in the grass for a period of time. Other individuals who sit on the stools could have a Goldilocks effect to see which stool is more comfortable for them.
