“Zinnia”, hand-built of stoneware, abstracts the forms of floral elements- be it a stamen, pistil, corona, corolla, seed, or pod. The resultant stack is a deconstructed flower, pure white and devoid of color…. as pale and isolating as the past year has sometimes felt.
“Log” is pure white hand-built porcelain, placed amongst a sprawling stack of split, peeling-bark, logs. The piece speaks to the preference many people have for perfected versions of nature rather than nature as it exists.
