Stilts
693 Fairmount Avenue Oakland, California
Wild turkeys visit the streets of Oakland cross busy intersections and carry on without fear of traffic and urban bustle. I welcome the reminder that these streets are not just for humans.

Take A Seat
486 Jean Street, Oakland, California, 94610
An installation that invites passerbyers to sit and experience the world around them. The seating configuration will change every week: sod, gravel, sticks, and flowers. Some materials are more inviting than others, illustrating the ups and downs of this country at the present moment.

The Neighborhood Smudge Station
4180 Whittle Avenue, Oakland, California, 94602
Welcome to The Neighborhood Smudge Station. By participating in the ritual of smudging, there is hope that we can use the healing properties of our natural landscape to help cleanse the negative energies from both the personal, public, and political landscape. The resource cabinet is stockpiled with free-for-the-taking smudge bundles for people to cleanse the self, the home, and other inhabited space. The ancient practice consists of burning a special bundle or stick—which can contain a number of different plants or herbs—and using its smoke to cleanse and protect yourself or the objects and spaces around you. A printed guide provides information on the different native plants and instructions on the smudging process.

Tree Talk
4180 Whittle Avenue Oakland CA
Tree Talk. I am collaborating with Marissa Kunz and Kate Rhoades to create an interactive conversation among three sculptures. I am creating an 8 foot PINK tree, Kate is creating an 8 foot bird and Marissa is building an enormous cactus. Tree Talk is about interacting with our enviroment; the large scale emphasizes the importance of our non-human neighbors while also drawing attention to multiples forms of communication that do not involve people. The tree, the bird and the cactus loosely represent native species of flora and fauna in Northern California, and the large scale highlights an urgency to respect and protect....hopefully in a fun way.
Real Time and Space (Beth Krebs, organizer)
125 10th Street, Oakland, California, 94607
In the spirit of the United Nations, Real Time and Space (RTS) will present a series of artist-made flags to adorn our building and parking lot. RTS is a collective of 15 art studios located in Oakland's Chinatown. Our intention with the flags is to make our spirit more visible in the neighborhood.
