HAVANA, CUBA

I will put up broken window sign paintings in multiple locations in Havana, Cuba and on the front windows of the Franklin in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood. These signs were originally made for an exchange exhibition at Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales that was scheduled for 01/19 but was postponed due to Decree 349, which put restrictions on cultural events in Cuba. The shape of the breaks in the windows are in the form of the map of Chicago on top and Havana at bottom. Its called City Break Up. They are made in various values/colors but the image is identical. They were recently in my show at Gallery 400 'moves on human scale'. This image is a photo of them installed in that space this past summer.
