Diaz incorporated the porch awning to suspend her signature folded wool forms dipped in beeswax and accented with strings of luminous tiny glass beads. The abstract semi-soft bundles contain crevices and openings that suggest a body, chrysalis, and landscape simultaneously. Using all organic materials and dyes to create her curious sculptures, the artist reminds us that everything in the natural world is connected and has its own energy and magic.
