Echo Effect

In line with the 2023 Terrain project theme of Mycelium, this piece embodies the fusion of disparate elements that then morph and branch out in physical and conceptual ways in response to the environment. Mycelium is an organism that draws nutrients from its environment after deconstructing them, and then “gives back” by helping other organisms increase their resistance to plant pathogens as well as to make water processing more efficient. Mycelium is often striking in its visual manifestation, easily visible and markedly contrasting with the setting in which it grows but is ultimately a harmonious part of the overall ecosystem.
